If you have eaten at Vida Verde Mexican Restaurant several times like myself your only disappointment would have been that the restaurant serves water, which is not Mexican, alone. Nothing is as Mexican as Vida Verde! The contemporary Mexican restaurant perched beautifully in the heart of Manhattan, New York might be the most Mexican place in the city. The restaurant serves good Mexican food and a healthy dose of the Mexican kitchen heritage. My first experience was good, but was too much like the ones back home in Puebla. Besides that all of the dishes here at Vida Verde have been authentic, different, interesting, and tasty!
Vida Verde is a nostalgic Mexican restaurant at the midtown of Manhattan, Ney York. It has a large menu of traditional and modern cuisine, and is considered fine dining by many patrons. Their coveted menu boasts of some of the best Mexican delicacies in the city. From QUESO FRESCO, SPICY HEIRLOOM POTATOES, MOLOTE CHICKEN SKEWER, MUSHROOM QUESADILLAS, SHRIMP FLAUTAS, CHICKEN POZOLE SALAD
THREE SISTERS SALAD, WATERMELON SALAD to TACOS. Just before you begin to salivate, I think it is important you know that Vida Verde is famous for its twist to these staple Mexican dishes.
Chef Hugo Orozco, hailing form Mazatlan, Mexico ensures that the meals are true to their Mexican roots. He is the custodian, or perhaps the innovative maestro who has put together this wonderful menu that leaves a lasting taste of Mexico on your tongue. Chef Hugo, as he is fondly called, approaches cooking as a perfect marriage of respect for the traditional with a flare for the contemporary. He takes the meal to a whole new level whipping up tasty salads and showing you a thing or two about the Taco that only a Mexicans know. He has partnered with the team behind tanner smiths to evoke the flavorful and fun Mexican dishes Midtown Mexico have come to love.
Take the Guacamole, which is one of my favorites. Guacamole (sometimes informally referred to as "Guac”. is an avocado-based dip, spread, or salad conjured up by the Aztec. In addition to being so tasty, it has wormed its way to our hearts to become part of the American cuisine. Vida Verde makes one of the best Guacs! When I sashay through those doors you definitely know what I’m ordering. Chef Hugo has mastered the art of make such tasteful Guacs that leave my taste buds tingling. My time out at the Mexican Restaurant in Midtown Manhattan is not over until I do my dessert; the one and only Tres Leches Cake with Berries! I have tried a number of Tres Leches but Vida Verde has the most delicious recipe hands down! If you haven’t tried Tres Leches, the cake is soaked in a mixture of three milks making for one of the best desserts you will ever have! The addition of berries makes a fun pop of color and is the perfect dessert to take to parties. Feel free to check out Vida Verde’s website for more from their menu and find what rocks your boat. If you can’t make it to Mexico you can have Mexico come to you by ordering Vida Verde’s catering services
